Afar Foods timeline from 2020 to 2023

It was spring 2020. COVID lockdowns were in full swing, and I was craving excitement while stuck indoors. So, I got creative in the kitchen. Tired of my usual sugary bars and oily chips, I challenged myself to whip up a more interesting and healthier snack. A year and 500+ recipe tests later, the Afar bar was born.

I enlisted the help of my amazing mom, and together, we transformed a ghost kitchen into Afar’s snack factory. Over 1.5 years, we handmade 40,000+ Afar bars and sold them out of my 400 square foot apartment.

Fast forward to today: we’ve outgrown our ghost kitchen and apartment. We're thrilled to share Afar bars with an ever-growing community of snackers - like you! I eat them daily, and I'm sure you'll love them just as much as I do. Happy snacking!
